ROSTER CHANGES

TYPES OF MOVES

There are 2 types of roster changes.  INJURY RESERVE and WAIVER WIRE moves.

NUMBER OF MOVES

Each owner receives 10 INJURY RESERVE MOVES and 5 WAIVER WIRE MOVES.  In addition, each owner has a SUPER WAIVER WIRE MOVE at their disposal.

AWARDING PLAYERS

The Commish will award players to owners who have requested legitimate moves during the week leading into the week’s games.  If the same player is requested by multiple owners, the player will be awarded to the owner with the FEWEST OVERALL POINTS.  When submitting a move, always give the Commissioner a backup player or two in case you don’t get your first choice. If you do not submit backups, and your requested player is taken by another owner, your injury move will not go through.

INJURY RESERVE

If you happen to lose someone on your team to injury, you will have the opportunity to use a healthy player in his place.  These moves will NOT be reflected on the CURRENT ROSTERS link found on your league site.

If any of your players appear on the NFL’s injury list in the week preceding Sunday’s games, you will be able to use an injury reserve move.  As long as the player appears on the list, he can be replaced, regardless of the injury status (Out, Doubtful, Questionable, Probable).  An injured player must be replaced with someone from the same position, and each move is used to replace one player only.

IR moves will last for up to three weeks, but you can REACTIVATE the injured player at any time after the first week.  After three weeks, the original injured player will return to your active roster.  If the original injured player is still on the NFL’s injury list after three weeks, you can use another reserve move to continue with the same replacement player.  The owner with the injury reserve rights to a player will have the first opportunity to retain him (as an IR replacement).

If you want to REACTIVATE your player before the three weeks is up, you must inform the Commish yourself.  It is not automatic.

You CANNOT pick up an INJURY RESERVE replacement player with a waiver wire move before the 3 weeks are up.  If you want to do this, you have to inform the Commissioner that you are REACTIVATING the injured player by WEDNESDAY before the following game.  That way, the replacement player is made available to all owners that week.

For games played on Thursday or Saturday, the injury move must be made by the day before those games.  This will only apply to players in the Thursday or Saturday game.  If a player is hurt in a Thursday or Saturday game, the injury reserve move cannot be made until the following week.

If you place a veteran player on IR, he can be replaced with a veteran or a rookie, but only if there is not a rookie on your roster.  If you are replacing an injured rookie, you can request either a rookie or a veteran.  Be sure you know the player’s status before you request him.

You can also place any player that has been SUSPENDED by the NFL on the Injury Reserve.  In this case, TWO Injury Reserve moves must be used.  A SUSPENSION IR will last for a maximum of 4 weeks, and only one player can be substituted in that time frame.  All of the above rules for Injury Reserve apply to a Suspension IR.  Players who hold out at the beginning of the season or are de-activated during the season are also eligible for a suspension IR move.

You can make as many INJURY RESERVE moves as you want in any week.

INJURY RESERVE MOVES can only be made during the regular season.  Any weeks remaining on an IR move at the end of the season will be forfeited.

ELIGIBILITY

QUARTERBACKS, KICKERS, and TEAM DEFENSE are not eligible for the INJURY RESERVE!!!

WAIVER WIRE

You can change any position on your team permanently by using a WAIVER WIRE move.  These moves will be reflected on the CURRENT ROSTERS link on your league site.

WAIVER WIRE requests will be processed in the same manner as INJURY RESERVE moves (awarded to the owner with the FEWEST OVERALL POINTS).  However WAIVER WIRE moves take priority over INJURY RESERVE moves, regardless of the overall standings.

A WAIVED player must be replaced with someone from the same position unless you are switching a 3rd receiver for a tight end or vice versa.  Each WAIVER WIRE move is used to replace one player only.

   - You cannot make more than one waiver wire move in a week (IMPORTANT!)

SUPER WAIVER WIRE

Your SUPER WAIVER WIRE move allows a 2 position swap in 1 week.  You DO NOT need a ROOKIE on your roster to request and complete a SUPER WAIVER WIRE move as in previous years.

* WAIVER WIRE to INJURY RESERVE

If you want to, you can pick up a player with a WAIVER WIRE move, and then use an INJURY RESERVE move in the same week to replace him.  Obviously, the injured player MUST appear on the injured list, and the IR replacement will be determined according to the same rules for all INJURY RESERVE moves.

* PICKING UP SOMEONE ON INJURY RESERVE

If you see the (IR) tag after a players’ name on the AVAILABLE PLAYERS list, that player CANNOT be acquired by other owners.  However, you can request to pick up said player with an INJURY RESERVE or WAIVER WIRE move IN THE EVENT that he is REACTIVATED that week.  Obviously, if said player is not reactivated, he cannot be picked up.

DEADLINES

The deadline to make WAIVER WIRE moves is going into WEEK 15.  All leftover moves are forfeited.

Again, INJURY RESERVE moves are allowed at any time until the end of the regular season.

TRADES

There are no trades allowed between owners.

SEASON ENDING INJURIES

If you have a player on your roster who is injured and declared OUT for the season after the Week 15 WAIVER WIRE deadline, you will be allowed the opportunity to substitute that player with a backup from the SAME TEAM if that team qualifies for the playoffs.  The substitution is only allowed in playoff games, and must be a backup of your choice.  It is not an automatic replacement, so you must tell the Commish before the playoffs start.  You cannot replace said player with a ROOKIE if you already have one on your roster, whether they qualify for the playoffs or not.

MAKING YOUR MOVES

To insure a successful move, you must do one of the following:

1) Use the WAIVER WIRE or INJURY RESERVE forms found at the bottom of your league site.  Simply fill in all fields of the form and submit.  Your request will go directly to the Commish’s e-mail inbox.

2) E-mail the Commish using the link found on the FFH homepage.  Be sure to clearly state who you are, what league you are in, and leave me at least 1 or 2 backup options.

3) Leave a detailed message on the FFH answering machine.  Once again, be sure to clearly state who you are, what league you are in, and leave me at least 1 or 2 backup options.  Keep your messages short and sweet so the voicemail box doesn’t fill up.

REQUESTS ARE ONLY ACCEPTED BETWEEN WEDNESDAY and SATURDAY.  Moves requested before those days won’t be allowed.  The deadline is Saturday evening, at midnight.  Exceptions on time will be made on a very limited basis and is up to the Commish (emergencies, phone/computer problems etc.)

If you have a player in a Thursday or Saturday game, you must be sure to submit your requests by the day before that game.

  * You can confirm your requests and who you got by clicking on the INJURY RESERVE or WAIVER WIRE links found at the bottom of your league site on SUNDAY morning.  The Commish WILL NOT be able to confirm your request at any time before that, and WILL NOT be able to warn you if your request won’t go through.  Also, the Commish CANNOT tell you if anyone else in your league has requested the same player as you.  These rules are all in place to insure fairness and confidentiality.
